The Drive for Growth – Are You the One Perpetuating Pain in Your Life?

Does pain play a role in your personal growth system? Do you only create change in your life and advance towards the next version of yourself when pain arrives? Do you need something to disrupt you to create change? Most of you might also ask yourselves, are there things that bother you, but you prefer to live in peace with the disturbance rather than create change within it?

All these questions can have a variety of answers. But what all these answers have in common is that you assign a role to pain in your life. It is meant to develop you, advance you, propel you towards the next version of yourself. The moment pain prevents you from moving, it's a sign that it has arrived to fulfill its role. In most cases, when the role of pain is unconscious and you don't understand how to heal its symptoms, you ask yourselves: How can it be that pain returns every time after all the growth and progress I've made?

The answer to this is simple and clear: because you invited it. Growth causes you to change direction. Instead of being reactive and dealing with whatever reality brings to your doorstep, you move towards taking responsibility. You understand that reality is the reactive one. According to the roles your subconscious has assigned to every person, event, and energy in your life, that is precisely how you will receive everything you ask for to grow through it.

Here are 3 questions that will help you know if you are growing through pain:
    1. Do you experience pain with a consistent pattern? (For example… every time X happens, I feel pain)
*Note: This doesn't have to be only physical pain; it can also be emotional, energetic, or any other type of pain.*
    2. Do you learn something new about yourself after successfully resolving a particular pain?
    3. Do you feel growth emerging from difficulties?

If you identified with at least 2 out of 3 questions, here are 3 ways that will help you understand things not through difficulty. After all, you want to break the chain of inviting difficulties into your reality for growth:
    1. How does reality treat me the way I treat myself? This question brings responsibility back to us. We are not trying to grow reactively to reality, but rather understand that reality gave us this because, unconsciously, we asked for it to come.
    2. What is the benefit behind the situation? What is the need that the subconscious doesn't believe we can address, except in this way?
    3. How can we provide a different and more empowering solution for our need?

I invite you to write to me in the comments what you think of this protocol and share examples of situations where you gave a role to your pain.
If you wish, write to me that you want my feedback, and we will analyze the situation together.
