How to Heal Yourself Through Consciousness?
Most people perceive the world in terms of cause and effect. They try to change their actions to achieve desired outcomes. This equation works wonderfully for them in most cases, until the moment they need healing. When they need healing, they are asked to grow into a new version of themselves. A version different from what they know is, in fact, a new collection of ways in which the world operates. In contrast, a person's self-identity is tied to how they interpret their understanding of themselves, versus their understanding of how the world works. Therefore, the central challenge in healing is not changing habits, but rather the impact of this habit change on how people perceive themselves. Self-perception is the core of self-confidence. It is a person's perspective of themselves and their way of distinguishing themselves from others. Notice how much value you derive from your ability to distinguish yourself from others: uniqueness, independence, the ability to influence the world, etc. When you seek healing, the way you distinguish yourself from others changes. This can be unsettling; your meaning in the world was born from being yourself, distinct from others. If you want to overcome the difficulty of this separateness, be aware that healing is about to introduce you to a new version of yourself. This version is not necessarily one that your current self will love. It's possible that, with the tools it currently possesses, it might even interpret it as something bad, hurtful, harmful, or threatening. Therefore, you must remember that healing changes the way you think, not necessarily the subjects you think about. Here are 3 practical steps to help you be more prepared for the healing that is coming:
1. Thoughts that become facts – Have you ever tried to think about your thoughts? Are there thoughts you are sure are true? On what basis of the thoughts you are sure are true do you establish facts?
2. Inner authority – Do you have an inner authority to decide that things are true? On what basis do you decide that something is true? Is it based on how you perceive its effectiveness?
3. Self-love – Do your choices to grow into the next version of yourself come from fear or from love? Are you capable of loving yourself and the world unconditionally? Without other people trying, or even succeeding, in proving something to you?
After you go through these three steps, you will be ready to meet your future self after healing. Don't worry about the symptoms; they will disappear on their own.
Tell me – how are you preparing to meet the future version of yourself?
